TextTak offers a fast, friendly message facility from any Windows desktop.
TextTak allows you to send a message to anyone in your WorkGroup or Domain, without any prior registration or any requirement to be on email.
On TextTak’s home page, you can create a personalised contact list by entering any group or domain name, and then select the individuals you wish to send messages to.
A message is sent with a friendly reminder message, asking the recipient to check their TextTak message.
The message window appears “on top” of your desktop for a short time, while the recipient receives the message and can respond to it.
When the recipient checks their TextTak message, TextTak will inform them that your message is waiting.
You can then send a reply message to your recipient.
If the recipient isn’t on textTak, the message will not be delivered.
For each text message, you can set a time for the message to expire, and whether or not the message should be displayed to the recipient.
Configuration:
As soon as you open TextTak, you can create a personalised contact list. To do this, you need to enter any group or domain name and then choose the individual contacts you wish to add to the list.
There are 4 versions of TextTak available, depending on which edition you require.
1 – Desktop Edition – For use on the desktop, with its own message window.
2 – Server Edition – Use TextTak as a daemon, with a central database, which interacts with other TextTak instances.
3 – Enterprise Edition – For use as a network message system with multiple TextTak instances, for managing incoming and outgoing messages within your organisation.
