i don’t think the bmw is one. i don’t know of any bmw dealer that would or would want to do that. bmw has a separate product line for the e36. bmw re-balled one of mine just a few weeks ago and took a different part so i had to buy new ones.

i got my car a year ago from the factory to be a one of a kind exotic with a special racing build. i did a full body rebuild using grant k-9s. the rest of the interior was rebuilt and it has brand new suspension, engine, intake, a/c & ac pump, exhaust, brake, drive shaft, rearsets, rear stabilizer bar, front stabilizer bar, shocks, springs, subframe, steering, window crank mechanism, front and rear bumpers, rims, fender flares, and a few more things. the gts 2.5t was a dumpster fire that i bought for $500. they knew it was a piece of crap, but the owner was such a b!tch and i really wanted to enjoy the sport part of it i bought it. i had to rebuild it into a decent car though, so i took the 2.5t and put it in my car. there are no other problems, but it does not handle like it should. gas mileage on there is a joke. under heavy throttle it’s really dragging like hell and has the most obnoxious turbo lag ever seen in a car of its size. what’s really bad is when i am driving it at an extreme speed and apply power, it will still stall. i have not driven it for about 3 months because i was sick of the bs and sold it for $2000.
i’m not sure what the dealer has done to it, because it’s really quite amazing. i’ve seen mitsubishi’s for about $10k and they were in really bad shape. i’ve seen corvettes and even jeeps for less than $5,000 and they were in good shape, but i’ve never seen a gs with their custom suspension, engine, driveshaft, fenders, flares, etc. for any amount of money that wasn’t like $200-300 more than the 2.5t. even in the condition it’s in now, it’s better than any convertible i have seen on the road for a $20,000-$40,000 price range. i would say if i had to do a third body job on it i’m going to have to add a lot more money into it. i would say that if my car was in that condition, i would get it redone for about $10k more than i paid for it. it’s really amazing.
