phoenix version 5.5 represents several leaps forward for runtime’s software. a deliberate focus has been placed on radically improving the fixed-wing physics to more closely match the accuracy offered by our competitors. to do accomplish this, we have completely rebuilt the fixed-wing physics engine and will continue to improve through future minor updates to the consumer. the improved physics will also allow for the inclusion of as3x and safe technology which in turn will enable us to include more horizon models including key products such as the apprentice s and delta ray.
one of the more interesting aspects of flight simulation, are the incredible number of great aircraft designs that are out there. however, with all the variations and different aircraft, there is a very real challenge for us to get the aircraft to fly and perform as they should. as the leading flight simulation software developer, we are constantly battling to improve on the physics of the aircraft and its ability to fly. this often means that we have to make changes to our software, in order to make the aircraft behave better and more realistically.
we have been working with an amazing team of software engineers in our labs in mountain view, california, who have focused on delivering the best flight simulation for desktop computers. along the way, we have accumulated a wealth of data that we have used to help us improve the aircraft. this data has also led to the development of new features, and has enabled us to develop new physics engines that will be used in our next release of the simulator.
it is very exciting for me to be able to announce these new developments and provide a preview of our brand new engine. i can only imagine what is to come for next years release.

when i was first getting started with phoenix, i did not really understand the importance of a strong online community. the community is amazing for phoenix, as it has a large number of members all willing to help and offer support. the majority of people working at phoenix are very friendly, and are willing to help the community in any way they can. it has been great to see all of the support phoenix has received. not only are members all over the globe, but it has support members from all over the world. people from all over the world who are in a free time can help out a community project. the community has been very helpful, allowing people to get involved without having to pay for a subscription.
modelers have long been restricted to using only one flight simulator because it is impractical to use more than one. one controller can only handle so many aircraft in so many configurations. the trend toward using multiple flight simulators has only grown in recent years. you can use multiple flight simulators for a couple of reasons. you can have a simulator for each plane you fly and practice, you can have a simulator for each aircraft that you fly, you can use simulators for events you participate in, or you can use simulators to practice flying a variety of planes and models for that first flight. if you have more than one flight simulator, you may need to learn to juggle a few things at the same time. you will need to be aware of the status of your aircraft and its battery. you will need to be aware of the status of other aircraft that are in your range so that you can be warned if your plane is about to collide with them. you will need to be aware of the weather so that you can plan your flight wisely. you will need to be aware of the location of airports, flying sites, and landing strips so that you can locate and plan your approach to landing. you will need to be aware of your own flight status so that you can take advantage of emergency situations.
