At its core, Double Play is a VR baseball game, but we decided to build it as a social and casual experience for people of all ages. A VR baseball game with that flexibility goes a long way toward being the “must have” VR social experience.
Our goal in Double Play is to make something that is fun to play on your own, that is easy to play with friends, and that is competitive enough that it’s fun to play online with your friends.

Once the game starts, the two-player mode is setup and ready to play. Players are inserted into the game in separate rooms, and they’re connected to each other via the game’s network. Both players can control the game from their own controllers (connected to their own VR headsets).
When the game starts, the other player steps into the game through the chat window. You can enter and chat with your friend, and you can see the other player’s stats on-screen.
In general, your AI teammates will alternate between “boosting” you (hitting well, stealing bases, etc) and “defending” you (throwing and catching for you), so you can keep focusing on your own game.

When talking to the developer, I pointed out that OBT: The Darkest Timeline was one of the most popular free apps in the store, and people were playing it outside of Steam, despite it’s absence of multiplayer. Given the success of OBT, I was really hoping they would do it.

  General Gameplay
  A realistic land combat simulation, in which the player conducts combat operations in the form of a modern, ground-based army. In several missions the player can conduct airstrikes on selected objectives.
  Game Mechanics
  As other Combat Mission games the game mechanics are driven by detailed turn tables which take account of mechanical issues like fuel, ammunition, and replacements.
  Battalions have a number of subunits which provide support tasks to the main tasks in the battalion area of operations. The weapons and vehicles of the subunits are controlled by different rules to those of the main task.
