ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Two Allentown landlords are suing the city to stop the collection of more than $200,000 in tax revenue as payment for off-street parking.

The owners of 117-119 N. Sixth St. and 317 W. Walnut St. want a judge to declare that council members illegally adopted an ordinance waiving a city requirement that off-street parking spaces be provided in two-unit apartment buildings.

The city allows landlords to provide parking spaces for themselves. But the law requires off-street parking to be set aside for each resident of the apartment.

Landlords say the law discriminates against them and should be repealed. But City Council members say the ordinance is fair.
