How can I use Splinter for scraping a website that only works when logged in?

I’m scraping a website that requires a user to be logged in to view the content (using Django). There is also a login page for logging in that looks like this:

Unfortunately the login form doesn’t work for me and returns a javascript error when I try to submit it.
So my question is, how can I use Splinter to scrape the login and register pages? I’ve been using this guide ( but am having trouble implementing it. It seems like the user agent should work fine since the site doesn’t complain about it? However I still get this error:
splinter.exceptions.SessionNotFoundError: Could not locate a request session, either because the browser isn’t sending one, or because you are using the session incorrectly.

I don’t think I can use Selenium or another webdriver for this, and I couldn’t find any answers in here.

Click the Autodesk Meshworks folder.
Click either File > Extracts > Keygen
or File > Extracts > Keygen
and hit OK.
Paste the keygen (the.kgen file) to the Autocad/Meshworks folder.
You can now activate it by clicking File > Preferences
