this is a quick fix release mostly to just bypass the need for vlc to be installed, but also a catch-up release for macos. if vlc is not installed, rather than generating an error, it will automatically fall back to mediactrl (note, vlc player is still only supported on windows due to many annoying issues under the other os’s that i am still working on).

pfemame is a front end for the multiple arcade game emulator (mame) written in python. it is cross platform (tested on linux (ubuntu), windows, and macos). it also includes a graphical tile view designed for mame cabinets which allows control using joystick / gamepad. it supports favourite game flagging, mess systems, per-rom input mapping, and a tiled view for arcade cabinets. it was written with a minimalist view in mind but also because there were some features that i wanted that no other front ends provided. //www.mameworld.info/ubb../showthreaded.phpnumber=394772

1) i have the hdd for xg2 & exchain downloaded but haven’t been able to get these to run. tried using the instructions here for xg3 but no luck – also tried other things based on info i found elsewhere using something called gitadoratools, etc. but no luck either. anyone have working instructions for xg2 and exchain but in any case (even if you are just using a frontend and not mame)?
