The main problem is that the game is built on a simple concept, and fails to do anything new with it. The robots themselves are brainless, and while they are physically designed, there’s no real interaction with them other than a button. The game has a large number of poorly written bots, and a poorly implemented automation system.
There’s no such thing as a quest system in this game. Instead, players can buy a set of robots from a given location, and they slowly go around collecting items. Players can even buy everything in the game for just about any number of robots, which makes the game an endless open world where the player never actually has to ‘complete’ anything.
The game goes from gameplay to gameplay without really having any change in its play-style. The story is poorly written and stale, and there are no significant game moments other than cheap story-telling.
Basically, Roblox is a game about automation, and has no deeper meaning or more than that. It feels like a game about robots from the 19th century, and it plays like it too. The story is a very poor version of The Terminator, and while you see some fun moments, they are mostly forgettable.
The game is also a very unfair one, with no enemies appearing for most of the game, making the gameplay an exercise of luck rather than skill. The only real challenge in the game is to finish the missions on time, but that can be achieved simply by just paying yourself.
The only real ‘buy’ options in the game are the robots, which are cheap and unimaginative. There is no meaningful variety, no quality of life improvement, and no reason to buy anything but robot heads.
The game is also extremely slow. The game doesn’t really scale, with every mission requiring at least 30 minutes of gameplay.
