Pruitt has hired several of his former staff and his wife, Vicki, works as a scheduler for the EPA.

Last week, Pruitt told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that while he was not aware of the ethics rules surrounding his position as EPA administrator, he knew he would be held to a higher standard.

“My children were born in [a] womb in the state of Oklahoma and I did not move away, I think it’s a reflection of the conscience of the American people,” he said. “So I think that is a really high bar to clear, and I look forward to that day.”

The group Public Citizen, a nonprofit, nonpartisan watchdog that campaigns for government accountability, filed the complaint.
